Reba McEntire ‘The Godmother’ to the new Norwegian Epic

Now, Im not in the habit of multi blogging in one day, but I just stummbled across some very exciting news for anyone interested in Norwegian Cruise Line.

It has been announced this week that Reba McEntire will christen the companies newest Freestyle Cruising ship,Norwegian Epic. The christening ceremony will take place in New York on July 2, 2010 on board Norwegian Epic.Reba McEntire has sold over 55 million albums worldwide; earning 34 number 1 singles and 15 American Music Awards, 12 Academy of Country Music Awards, nine Peoples Choice Awards, seven Country Music Association Awards and two GRAMMY Awards. She is also an avid cruiser and has taken several family cruise vacations, most recently on Norwegian Gem in the Mediterranean!! Lets hope she enjoys the new look EPIC as much as I do, It looks so innovative and exciting, I can wait to get on board myself.

Norwegian Epic is an innovator in cruise ship entertainment, featuring world-class entertainment on board such as Blue Man Group, Cirque Dreams & Dinner, Legends in Concert, The Second City ®, Howl at the Moon and Nickelodeon TM at Sea. In keeping with its focus on exceptional entertainment, I’m not surprised they chose Reba as she does have the firsthand knowledge of the products and is equally well known.

The inaugural festivities for Norwegian Epic will take place in New York at 2:00 p.m. ET on July 2. In addition, Norwegian Epic will serve as the host venue for the 34th Annual Macy's 4th of July Fireworks event taking place on Sunday, July 4, 2010 which is quite an honour.

Norwegian Epic will summer in the Mediterranean as part of her 2011/2012 deployment. The ship will sail a seven-day Western Mediterranean itinerary from Barcelona, Spain from May through October 2011. Ports of call include: Florence/Pisa (Livorno); Rome (Civitavecchia); Naples, Italy; and Palma, Majorca, Spain. Fantastic ship for families and young at heart couples alike who want to enjoy themselves. The ship its self boasts a whole range of new and exciting features – More on that later.

For now, just be happy in the knowledge that the ship is to be blessed by Reba McEntire, as sure winner for any ‘Country’ music fans…
